Data science

All things you need to know about Data Science

Machine learning, Artificial intelligence and data science are some of the fastly growing sectors of Computer science. All of them started coming in context from early 2010s.

Data science is the one that has fascinated me in last two years and I have done a lot research about it and came to know about it in details. Data science is inter-disciplinary field that uses algorithms, methods, and scientific methods to extract, evaluate and analyse from different kind of datas.

Data science is a intersection of business, statistics and programming and a professional should have every bit of those skill to be a data scientist. There is a difference between data analyst and data scientist. Data analyst finds valuable information from data whereas data scientist do that too but also provides a frame work or next step to the solution of the problem. A data scientist looks at data from different perspectives and views.

To be a data scientist you can take different steps. Either you can do undergraduate in computer science with statistics or even directly in Data science but most universities only offers Data science in Graduate. You can also take another path by doing undergraduate in businnes analysis and management and doing some traning for technical aspects of it.

Data scientists are the professionals who are skilled in evaluating, extracting and organising large chunks of data. Data scientists has to identify important informations, collect useful data from different sources and use different kind of statistical and scientific manipulation  in data to extract some usable result from it.

Data scientists need to be result-oriented with some kind of industrial and businesses knowledge. Business firms hires Data scientists for finding valuable results from massive data that could help in taking next step for business. Data scientist should have strong background in Statistics, programming knowledge with emphasis on data mining, warehousing to analyse and build a algorithm.

So what's the benefit of being a data scientist. According to Glassdoor data scientist is the best no 1 job in America for third year in row in 2018. The need of data scientist is ever growing as data is increasing every day and information within it also getting more valuable, so the scope of data scientists is also increasing. The average base salary of a data scientist is around $120k.

NEB vs A level

Difference between NEB +2 board and CIE A levels - In +2 you can either choose science stream or any other stream or you are not allowed to took science and no science courses together and even some sciences are not allowed together like Biology and Computer Science but in A levels you can combine any sort of subjects.  - In A levels sciences practical exams are also highly important as you have to give your practical exams in your centre and its strictly monitored not as +2 where you perform practicals at your own college and teacher sends your marks and one thing you should know that cheating in A levels is like catching fish with your hand in river.      - There are only few colleges where you can study A levels and most of them are inside Kathmandu Valley and only few are in pokhara and one each in chitwan, butwal and biratnagar so there are fewer choices for you but there are thousands of +2 colleges in Nepal.  - A level exam is way vigo...

How should you start your college search?

Knowing your EFC and researching college   EFC which stands for Expected Family Contribution is a term that you will hear thousands of times while applying to universities especially if you are a student applying for financial aid.  EFC is the fixed amount of money your family is supposed to contribute to your college costs for one year. US universities are pretty expensive and for an average family, it is difficult to pay without taking loans.  However, US university education comes at a different range of prices. Columbia University in the City of Newyork, Uchicago. and Harvey Mudd College are some of the most expensive universities in the US with a sticker price of more than 80k dollars per year for tuition, room, and board. Brigham Young University’s three campuses are the cheapest with an annual tuition below 7000$. Also, you may find cheaper options at community colleges. Note: BYU-Provo is ranked inside the top 100 universities in the US.  Although EFC ...

A levels

A LEVELS IN NEPAL  So you have passes your SEE without even giving examination same pinch I have also completed my A2 or 12th grade for normal NEB board without giving examination.            In Nepal when a SEE graduate look for his higher education probably he looks at some of the +2 colleges but most students are unaware about other opportunities like as A levels, IB board and CBSE board and I will talk about it in my next blogs.  So, what is A levels?   A levels is the higher level of education or curriculum board under Cambridge Assessment International Education or normally you can understand it as subsidiary of Cambridge University, you definitely should have heard it once maybe in super 30 movie, and A levels is the course designed that makes you eligible or confident for studying at any international universities. Why A levels!  So you maybe thinking about why to study A levels what is unique about it ...
